I was contracted by Sterling Products to work in-house for a period of 3 months to lead the design, development and manufacture of 5 ‘Proof of Concept’ prototypes for their client. The QuickPay unit was created to support card based gaming and extend the range of their existing Banktech Cash Redemption Terminal when deployed into bars and clubs. The Quickpay unit allows the user to; Redeem gaming tickets for cash, Break notes into smaller denominations, Check card-based loyalty points, Purchase gaming tickets using cash, and Top up cards with cash.

The design employed a sheet-metal chassis configured to carry;  1 note-taker, 2 ticket rolls, 4 cash and 4 coin hoppers, dispensing chutes, communications, power, computing and storage drawer. The chassis also supported the necessary shelving, hinges, gas struts, drawer sliders, ventilation fans, security plate and locking mechanisms for the exterior doors. The exterior panels were then clad in sheet and vacuum-formed acrylic panels.

All 5 protoypes were delivered in time and on budget.
